Welcome to my website!
On these pages, I hope to share with
you the full range of my artwork—from my plein air landscapes to
my field guide illustrations. For those of you who have found this
site because you are familiar with my Golden Field Guide Eastern
Birds, I am in the process of posting additional information
about how that book was put together and about my other work as
an author and bird illustrator.
Although I am most widely known for
my bird illustrations, I have, during the past several years become
a dedicated (some might say obsessed) landscape painter. All through
the year, I haul my oil paints and easel out into the field where
I attempt to capture the glowing light and exquisite scenery of
New York’s Hudson Valley and Northern Catskills region. More
recently, I have been teaching the art of plein air (on site) landscape
painting through workshops and slide lectures. There is additional
information about these weekend retreats, as well as future gallery
talks and exhibits, available on the Upcoming
Events page.
Please feel free to browse. I hope
you will learn more about my work, and about my approach to art
and painting. I update these pages regularly with announcements
of upcoming shows and scheduled landscape workshops. I also regularly
post new paintings in the online galleries, and I have just recently
initiated a page where I can display work that is still "on
the easel." So please, so do come back again soon.
If you are interested in purchasing
original artwork, or one of my limited
edition prints, there are links included in the gallery pages
that will allow you to contact me directly.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Enjoy the site!
